            A Step InFuture – BMS Departmental Committee

“A Step In Future” is the official departmental committee of the B.com (Management Studies) Department, dedicated to the holistic development of students beyond the classroom. The committee is a student-faculty body formed with the vision of bridging the gap between academic knowledge and industry expectations.

This committee plays a pivotal role in planning and executing co-curricular and extracurricular activities that empower students with practical exposure, professional skills, and leadership qualities. With a strong focus on real-world learning, the committee organizes seminars, workshops, industrial visits, competitions, and other developmental events throughout the academic year.

Event:  Intraday Live Trading Competition

Date: 16th August,2024

The Step In Future Department organized Intraday Live Trading Competition in the college premise for BMS students. The competition was designed to provide students with practical experience in the stock market and to encourage them to apply their theoretical knowledge to real-world scenarios. The competition was an intraday event, meaning that participants were required to make trades within a single trading day from 9:00 am to 11:00 am. Students were provided with a virtual trading platform and a set amount of virtual capital to invest. The goal was to generate the highest profit by the end of the trading day.

  1. 1st Place: VedantDhongade – Profit of 800
  2. 2nd Place: Mukesh Prajapati of TYBMS – Profit of 500
  3. 3rd Place: MansanamuthuNadar – Profit of 300

The competition concluded with a closing ceremony attended by the principal and vice principal of Niranjana Majithia College of Commerce. There were total 33 particpants. The top three winners were awarded certificates in recognition of their outstanding performance. The Intraday Live Trading Competition was a valuable learning experience for BMS students. It provided them with a practical understanding of the stock market and helped to develop their analytical and decision-making skills. The competition was a success, and we look forward to hosting similar events in the future.

Event:  Seminar on Group Discussion and PI

Date: 30thAugust,2024

The seminar on Group Discussion and PI was conducted on August 30, 2024, at Room No. 12, organized by the Niranjana Majithia College of Commerce in association with IQAC. The primary objective of the seminar was to equip Bachelor of Management students with essential communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills.

The seminar featured interactive group discussions that provided students with opportunities to practice their communication and problem-solving skills. Experienced faculty members and industry professionals guided the discussions, offering valuable insights and feedback. A significant portion of the seminar was dedicated to preparing students for personal interviews, covering topics such as self-introduction, answering common interview questions, and making a strong impression.

The seminar successfully achieved its objectives, resulting in the following outcomes for the participating students: enhanced communication skills, improved critical thinking, developed teamwork skills, improved problem-solving abilities, and increased confidence. There were total 13 students.The seminar proved to be a valuable learning experience for the students, equipping them with the tools they need to excel in their academic pursuits and future careers.

Event:  Reels Making Competition

Date: 20th September,2024

On 18th August 2023, The Step In Future Department organized a reel making competition in the college premise. The main motive behind this event was to give an opportunity to all students to showcase their talent on three main concepts which was also the theme of the competition, Marketing, Finance & Artificial Intelligence. This competition was open for all streams, B.Com, BMS &BScIT.

The event commenced by warm welcoming the honourable judge Prof. Akshada Mistry, along with 7 7energy filled Participants and almost twice the Audience. The Reels were projected one by one on the screen. Everything was going amazing until The two respected guests Mrs. Reshma Vaja (Principal) & Mrs. Shweta Kumar (Vice principal) made a surprise visit which added more icing to the cake. Every participant made beautiful reels on different topics based on the theme. After Presenting every reel, the honourable judges declared the scores, though it was almost a tie and we got two 1st position winners Ms.Akanksha Gupta from SYBSCIT2nd position Mr. Akash Prajapati from TYBMS & Akash Raval from TYBMS & 3rd position; Ms. Amrita Chauhanfrom FYBMS

This competition was a successful one as many students got a good experience and learned a lot on how to edit videos and the three main areas Marketing, Finance & AI. Hats off to all the people involved in this event especially the Step In Future Department Members and the Principal and Vice Principal for supporting us.

 

Event:  A visit to Bombay Stock Exchange

Date: 25th September,2024

On September 25, 2024, a group of B.Com and B.M.S. students from Niranjana Majithia College of Commerce had the opportunity to visit the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), one of the world’s oldest stock exchanges. The visit provided students with valuable insights into the functioning of financial markets and the intricacies of stock trading.

The visit began with a comprehensive presentation on the history, structure, and operations of the BSE. Students learned about the various market segments, trading platforms, and regulatory frameworks in place. A dedicated session was also conducted to explain the concept of data science, derivatives, including futures and options contracts. The visit concluded with an interactive Q&A session where students had the opportunity to ask questions and clarify their doubts.

The visit to the Bombay Stock Exchange was a valuable learning experience for the B.Com and B.M.S. students. It provided them with a deeper understanding of financial markets, enhanced their career prospects, and complemented their academic studies.There were total 88 students who visited BSE. The students expressed their gratitude to the college for organizing such an enriching field trip.

 

Event:  Seminar on Investment Banking and CIMA

Date: 28th November,2024

The Department of  Step in future at Niranjana Majithia College successfully organized a seminar on “Investment Banking and CIMA” on [Date of Seminar] from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM. The event was conducted by the esteemed CA Dr. Kapil Thakur, a distinguished faculty member from Imarticus Learning. The seminar aimed to provide valuable insights into the dynamic fields of investment banking and the CIMA professional qualification to third-year BMS and B.Com students. The seminar shed light on the significance of the CIMA qualification in the global financial and accounting landscape. Dr. Thakur highlighted the numerous benefits of obtaining a CIMA qualification, including enhanced career prospects, improved earning potential, and global recognition. He also provided a concise overview of the CIMA curriculum and the examination structure. he seminar was met with enthusiastic participation from the students. Dr. Thakur’s engaging presentation style and interactive approach kept the audience captivated throughout. A lively Q&A session followed, providing students with an opportunity to ask questions and seek clarification on specific topics. There were around 50 students who participated in the event.The seminar on Investment Banking and CIMA proved to be an enriching experience for the participating students. It provided valuable insights into the dynamic world of finance and encouraged students to explore the diverse career opportunities available within the sector. The Department of Step in future extends its sincere gratitude to CA Dr. Kapil Thakur for his insightful presentation and to Imarticus Learning for their valuable support in organizing this successful event.

 

Name of the event: Nature Visit

Date: 11-01-2025

On 11th January 2025, the Department of step in future organized a nature visit to the Global Vipassana Pagoda in Gorai. The primary objective of the visit was to provide an opportunity for students to experience the serene natural surroundings and learn about the significance of the Pagoda, its architecture, and its contribution to spiritual and mental well-being.

The group gathered at the college premises by 7:30 am. After a brief introduction by the event coordinator, the group departed for Gorai at 8:00 am. The group arrived at the Global Vipassana Pagoda at 9:30 am . They were greeted by the tranquil environment and breathtaking architectural marvel, surrounded by lush greenery. There were total 14 students of BMS department. A guided tour of the Pagoda was arranged for the group. Students learned about the Pagoda’s history, its purpose, and the unique design inspired by ancient Buddhist monuments. The highlight of the tour was the main meditation hall, one of the largest domes in the world. After the tour, the participants took a nature walk around the Pagoda grounds. They explored the natural beauty of the area, observing the diverse flora and fauna that thrive in the peaceful surroundings.A brief interactive session with a Vipassana practitioner followed the nature walk. The practitioner shared insights into the practice of Vipassana meditation and its benefits in stress reduction, emotional regulation, and mindfulness. The session concluded with a Q&A where students asked questions about the practice.The visit concluded with the group returning to the college at 12:00 pm. The visit provided the students with a unique opportunity to relax and reconnect with nature, as well as gain an understanding of meditation practices.

Students appreciated the calm and serene environment of the Global Vipassana Pagoda.The visit helped students understand the importance of integrating nature and mindfulness into daily life.The session on meditation inspired some students to explore the benefits of practicing Vipassana.

 

Event:  Industrial Visit to Wet n Joy Waterpark, Lonavala

Date: 21st December,2025

The Step in future Department organized an industrial visit (IV) to Wet n Joy Waterpark, Lonavala, on 21st December 2024 for BMS students. The primary purpose of the visit was to provide students with a recreational break while also observing the functioning, management, and operations of a popular entertainment venue. The event aimed to offer students insights into the hospitality, tourism, and entertainment management industries.

Students gathered at the college campus early in the morning and departed for Lonavala at 6:15 am. Snacks were distributed during the journey. Upon arrival,at 10:00 am students were welcomed by the staff of Wet n Joy. After a short briefing about safety protocols and the park’s facilities, students were given free time to explore the various water rides and attractions.The students enjoyed a variety of water slides, wave pools, lazy rivers, and other entertainment options offered at the park. These activities not only provided fun and excitement but also allowed the students to observe customer service, crowd management, and the operational efficiency of a large-scale waterpark.A buffet lunch was arranged at the park’s restaurant at 1:00 pm. The meal included a variety of vegetarian and non-vegetarian options, ensuring all dietary preferences were catered to.After lunch, at 3:00 pm the park management conducted a session on the day-to-day operations of the waterpark. They discussed topics such as safety measures, customer service, maintenance of the rides, and the marketing strategies employed to attract visitors. Students had the opportunity to ask questions about the challenges and successes in managing a large-scale entertainment venue.The group left Wet n Joy Waterpark at 6:00 pm and arrived back at the college by 9:00 pm. The return journey was filled with lively discussions and reflections on the day’s activities.

The industrial visit to Wet n Joy Waterpark, Lonavala, was a resounding success. It provided students with an enjoyable yet informative experience, combining fun with valuable insights into the workings of a large-scale entertainment venue. The department looks forward to organizing similar events in the future to enrich the academic and practical knowledge of its students.

 

Event:  Trade Fair

The Sep in futureDepartment,  with the BMS (Bachelor of Management Studies) students, organized a Trade Fair on 29th January 2025 from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm at the college campus. The event aimed to provide students with hands-on experience in organizing, managing, and participating in a business-oriented trade fair. It was designed to foster entrepreneurial skills and enhance practical business knowledge among the students

.A total of 7 stalls were set up by BMS students, featuring a variety of products and services ranging from handmade crafts, clothing, food items, accessories, and innovative tech gadgets. Each group of students had the responsibility of designing, promoting, and selling their products.Students actively engaged with visitors, presenting their products, explaining the benefits, and negotiating prices. The fair attracted a large number of attendees, including fellow students, faculty, and staff members, who supported the event by purchasing items and providing valuable feedback.Some stalls featured live demonstrations, such as cooking and product assembly, to attract customers and offer a hands-on experience to potential buyers. This added an interactive element to the trade fair, making it more engaging.

The Trade Fair organized by the Step in future Department in collaboration with BMS students was a remarkable success. It provided students with the opportunity to apply classroom concepts in a practical environment, helping them develop essential business and entrepreneurial skills. The event also served as a platform for students to showcase their creativity, problem-solving abilities, and teamwork. The department plans to continue organizing such events in the future to further support students in their academic and professional growth.

A step in future has organized Trade fair. There were total 10 stalls put up. Students have put
stall of various products and sold them. The program aims to develop skills related to business
management techniques, entrepreneurship, trading, finance, sales and marketing. It helped the
students to obtain the knowledge and skills about different sectors in BMS.

Event: Industrial Visit to Navneet Industries

On 27th January 2023, total 36 students of First Year, BMS along with 3 faculty members of
Niranjana Majithia College of Commerce visited Navneet Education Ltd Khaniwade factory,
Vasai-Virar, Maharashtra. We left our college at 07:45 am and reached factory by 09.40 am.
We travelled by bus with 80 students and three faculty members. First, we arrived at Navneet
Education Ltd at 09:40 am. There we were assembled and taken to the unit where we had a
look at the manufacturing of various types of office files like Document Folder, Display Book,
Clip File Transparent & Opaque, Ring Binder, Streep Patti File, Polypropylene Products,
Visiting Card Album, Softy Clip, Computer Binder, PP Lever Arch File, Super Strong File,
Saga Display Book and Saga Clip File.
After that the student were divided into group of 10 and each group was provided with a tour
guide. He gave us detailed information gave about “Navneet Education”. Then he showed
students how the machines functions and the process of making final goods with the use of
80% solar energy and 20% Government electricity. Raw materials (imported) paper & plasticRaw materials are imported from 4 Companies (TK) Files are exported. Tinting Machine
(colouring Machine) used to make chat paper I file folder Colours multiple time 45 min for
making 4,400 mm of paper. 1·6000 – 8000 kg of paper is Produced per day30-40 4th Paint per
Roll. A documentary video was shown to students related to industries was shown to the
students.
Company Staff understands the importance of timely delivery of orders at the client’s unit. In
order to achieve this goal, they had an excellent logistics facility and a well-defined logistic
support and tie-ups with major companies. The industrial visit gave the students an insight
about the manufacturing of the books and other products, and how they were being stored.
They showed the students how the raw material (rolls of plain paper) went through a number
of processes and procedures, until the final product (book) was produced. At the we had a
lovely photo session. With this, we left for the picnic to Great Escape with the lovely memories
of the extremely informative Industrial Visit.

Industrial visit was organized for SYBSC-IT & TYBSC-IT students on 11 Feb 2023.We
departed at 7:30 am from College Campus for Parle Biscuit Pvt. Industry, Khapoli.
Ms. Pallavi was the coordinator at Parle Company who guided students during the Visit. A
documentary film was on Parle Industry explaining the working of the plant and gave an
insightful presentation related to the working of the plant and its production including the
automation of the plant which follows the highest hygiene standards. The documentary was
enjoyed a lot by the students. She also described the diversified functions of the company in a
nutshell and threw light on the market share of the product as well. Students were given Parle
biscuits to taste. Visit ended with a vote of thanks from both sides. The activity was highly
interactive and a great learning experience for the students. The combination of learning while
having fun was made possible by seeing the assembly process in person.

Event- Seminar on NCDEX Financial Awareness

BMS department Step In Future had conducted a seminar on NCDEX Financial awareness
program. There was total 60 students in the seminar. The seminar was organised in association
with NCDEX Investor (client) Protection Fund Trust. The students got awareness about the
stock exchanges, share market, SEBI, Commodity and Derivative markets. Students also got
awareness about the frauds in the present scenario of the financial market. Students got
knowledge to make better financial decisions and understand about the financial markets.

BMS department a Step In Future had organized a seminar on career guidance in management.
There was total 40 students in the seminar. This program was organized in association with
MET Institute. Students got awareness about different entrance exams, how to apply for
entrance exams, different management courses. The institute had guided students also about
the different courses that the institute offers.

Poster making competition was conducted by step in future department where 30 students
participated in the poster making competition. Students made posters related to marketing,
finance, business management. It helped the students to explore about different marketing,
finance, banking and management structure in the market.

BMS department of Niranjana Majithia College of Commerce conducted Demo on “Live online Trading” for TYBMS students on 11/06/2020. All finance students participated in the event. The event provided the information to students regarding a real time access to account information, stock quotes elaborated market research and interactive trading.

BMS department of Niranjana Majithia College of Commerce conducted online orientation programme for the first year students on 07th September 2021. This orientation programme was addressed by Principal Dr. Reshma Vaja and BMS department facilities with an aimed to provide information to students about university rules for their course, college discipline, passing standard, library facility, computer lab facility, different activities conducted by the college, industrial visit as a part of their academic activity etc.60 students participated in orientation programme.

BMS department of Niranjana Majithia College of Commerce conducted Parent’s meeting for all BMS students on 31st January, 2021. In this meeting all Fy, Sy and Tybms parents participated. 86 parents and 4 teachers attended. Exam related information was given to parents and also attendance information about the student was shared with parents.

BMS department of Niranjana Majithia College of Commerce organized on 10th Feb, 2021, Budget Review. It was for SYBMS students. Total 60 students participate in workshop.They were guided on, what is budget, what were the major highlights of the budget? and experts views were demonstrated through recorded video lectures. Later students were asked to write their views on current budget and upload the documents.

The competition was for B.COM, BMS and BSCIT students. 35 students participate in Quiz competition and 19 students participated in Elocution competition.

Event: Orientation Programme

 

B.M.S. department starts its activities with an orientation programme for the first year

students on 02 nd July 2019. This orientation programme aimed at creating awareness amongst students about university rules for their course, college discipline, passing standard, library, facility, computer lab facility, different activities conducted by the college, industrial visit as a part of their academic activity etc.

 

Event: Environmental Visit at Pagoda

 

BMS Department A step in Future organised Environmental visit at Pagoda, Gorai for BMS Students on 29th August 2019. Appx. 72 students along with the faculty visited at Pagoda.

The Global Vipassana Pagoda is a Meditation Dome Hall with a capacity to seat around 8,000 Vipassana meditators (largest such meditation hall in the world) near Gorai, North-west of Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. It is built on donated land on a peninsula between Gorai creek and the Arabian Sea. The pagoda is to serve as a monument of peace and harmony.

The Global Vipassana Pagoda complex is an evolving construction. A museum depicts the historical life and non-sectarian teaching of Gautam Buddha. The Global Vipassana Pagoda’s educational displays communicate the Buddha’s teaching of the universal practice of Vipassana as a path towards real happiness.

The Global Vipassana Pagoda complex consists of the following structures:

Pagoda dome containing relics of the Buddha. The pillar-less structure of the massive Pagoda dome encompasses a meditation hall to seat around 8,000 Vipassana meditators – the largest such meditation hall in the world.

Vipassana meditation centre Dhamma Pattana, Museum depicting the historical life of the Buddha, Two smaller pagodas on the north and south side, Library and study rooms, Circumambulation path around the dome, Administration building, Vipassana Research Institute office and facility for Pali study program, Dhammalaya Guest House for Vipassana meditators.

The south pagoda contains 108 meditation cells for use by Vipassana students taking a meditation course at the adjoining meditation centre.

The foundation of the dome consists of basalt, while the dome itself is made from sandstone brought from Rajasthan. The individual blocks of sandstone weigh 600–700 kg each and are kept in place due to the unique design of the bricks. Each of the bricks interlock with the ones adjacent to it and lime mortar is used to fill in any remaining gaps. The circumambulation path is laid in marble.

The pinnacle of the pagoda is adorned with a large crystal. The spire is covered in real gold, while the rest of the pagoda is covered in gold paint. The spire is topped with a special ornamental umbrella piece donated by the Burmese. The main doors to the pagoda are wooden and hand-carved in Myanmar (Burma).

 

Event: Guest Lecture

 

Prof. Vikram Shotri from Bhavans College of Commerce was invited for a Guest Lecture on 14th November 2019 for TYBMS Sem V on the topic Logistics and Supply Chain Management’. He explained the syllabus of Logistics & Supply Chain Management and exam pattern including the marks weightage of the topic related to the syllabus. He also highlighted how to write the University paper to score good marks. At the end students gained the brief knowledge about the Logistics & Supply Chain Management syllabus. The vote of thanks was conveyed by Prof. Sakshi Khatri with the message that the session was very interactive and informative.

BMS Department A step in Future organised Community activity on 30th August 2019.

From SYBMS and TYBMS total four students went to Gyneshwar Vidyalaya School to deliver lectures to VIA standard students.

Sugrim Gupta (TYBMS) delivered English subject in VI A for 30 Minutes.

Ramshankar Yadav (SYBMS) delivered General science subject in VI A for 30 Minutes.

Vinay Vishwakarma (TYBMS) delivered Mathematics subject in VI A for 30 Minutes.

Swati Vishwakarma (TYBMS) taught drawing in VI A for 30 Minutes.

Students distributed stationeries like pencils, erasers, sketch pens, pens etc. to the students.

It was a great effort of students by carrying out a social activity and they had a good teaching learning experience.

 

  1. Event: Industrial Visit

 

On 23rd January 2020 total 120 students of First Year, Second Year, Third Year BMS and Bsc-IT along with 4 faculty members of Niranjana Majithia College of Commerce

visited Sagar Stationery Pvt Ltd, Palghar, Maharashta. We left our college at 07:45 am and reached Palghar by 11:45 am. We travelled by bus with 120 students and four faculty members. First, we arrived at Sagar Stationery Pvt. Ltd. at 11:45 am. There we were assembled and taken to the unit where we had a look at the manufacturing of various types of office files like Document Folder, Display Book, Clip File Transparent & Opaque, Ring Binder, Streep Patti File, Polypropylene Products, Visiting Card Album, Softy Clip, Computer Binder, PP Lever Arch File, Super Strong File, Saga Display Book and Saga Clip File.

Company maintains a voluminous warehouse that is used for storing the vast range of office stationery products. The products are stored in different sections as per their category. This enables in the timely and proper execution at the time of delivery. The unit is looked after by the warehouse personnel who maintain a track of products stored and delivered to the clients end.

The packaging unit takes care of the packaging of our products to ensure their safe transit and delivery. Company packaging professionals use quality material to ensure that these remain unscratched during the shipment at the clients end.

Company Staff understand the importance of timely delivery of orders at the client’s unit. In order to achieve this goal we have an excellent logistics facility. well-defined logistic support and tie-ups with major C&F companies have enabled us to achieve the complete client satisfaction by delivering the products on time to the clients.

After visiting the Sagar Stationery Pvt. Ltd., we halted at Bhatana where we had a meal with and took a small break where we had a lovely photo session. With this, we left for college with the lovely memories of the extremely informative Industrial Visit.

 

Event: Intercollegiate Online Economics Quiz

 

Intercollegiate Online Economics Quiz was organised by the BMS department on Economics topic through Google quiz and all the participants were issued participation certificate. The quiz was scheduled on 22nd May 2020 and there were total 410 participants in the quiz.
