     Bridge course for Accountancy subject

At beginning of the Academic year, Accountancy department has conducted Basic concept exam on Accountancy subject

Objective: As it will help us to understand the level of knowledge of the students. So that we can classify the as ; slow learner & fast learner. It will help us to guide the students as per their requirement of knowledge.

Action: We designed the syllabus, where we covered the basic concepts of Accountancy such as Journal entries, Ledger, Bank Book, Depreciation, Final Accounts etc.

Impact: this course helped the students in understanding basic fundamentals of Accountancy & helped in increasing the confidence of the students as well as their performance in the exam. On an average 20 students willingly participate.

Guest lectures

We kept Academic Guidance Lecture on the subject of Accountancy and  Financial Management sem IV , on 03/12/2020,   Speaker Hirenkumar Madani , from Nirmal college of commerce and science , kandiwali west , he guided student about how to prepare for online exam as well as he gave guidance on subject.51 student participated in the seminar.

Online Quiz competition

Department of Accountancy also conducted, ’Online Quiz on Accounts ’ on 20 April 2021 , on Zoom Platform where all the students of BCOM and BMS participated. 54 student participated in the quiz.

Bridge course for Accountancy subject:

At the beginning of the Academic year, Accountancy department has conducted Basic concept exam on Accountancy subject.

Objective: As it will help us to understand the level of knowledge of the students. So that we can classify them as; slow learner & fast learner. It will help us to guide the students as per their requirement of knowledge.

Action: On the basis of this exam, we have classified the students & prepared the batch of the slow learner students. In the month of September 2018, we designed the syllabus, where we covered the basic concepts of Accountancy such as Journal entries, Ledger, Bank Book, Depreciation, Final Accounts, etc.
Impact: this course helped the students in understanding the basic fundamentals of Accountancy & helped in increasing the confidence of the students as well as their performance in the exam.

Guest lectures

We kept guest lectures for S.Y.Bcom & T.Y.B.com students on the accountancy subject. These guest lectures were taken by the subject expert in the field of Accountancy.

Objective: to help the students in appearing the exam, how to avoid mistakes & score good marks

We called CA Mahesh Sathe, vice principal, associate professor, H.O.D Accounting department, L.S Raheja College of Arts and Commerce, Santacruz (w), to guide our students of Sybcom on the subject of Management Accounting. His lecture was helpful to the students. He enlightens the students with the subject knowledge & gave guidance on the subject as well as on how to handle Exam pressure. 94 students took the benefit of this lecture.

We also called C.A (Dr.) Harish sharma of Narsee Monjee college of commerce, Vile parle (w) for the subject of Cost Accounting for T.Y.B.com. He also guided the students on:

• How to avoid mistakes in costing paper
• How to select an option in the paper

Around 65 students have taken the benefit of this lecture.

Quiz competition

Department of Accountancy also conducted, ’Accountancy Quiz’ for S.Y.B.com & T.Y.B.com students & we selected 1st, 2nd& 3rd winners of the quiz.

Presentation by the students

In T.Y.B.com, H.O.D, Prof.Rushit Desai, motivated the students to give a presentation in the subject of cost accounting, where he heated the group of the students & given the topic.

• Students prepared P.P.Ts, went through different reference books & presented the topic in the class
• He also conducted the same assignment for the S.Y.B.com students in the subject of Auditing

Mrs. Bhavika Rumde, Assistant Professor, also given the assignment to the students of S.Y.B.com & T.Y.B.com students to give the presentation in the class.

This has helped the students to understand:

• Their strength and weaknesses
• Teamwork
• Leadership Quality
• Go through Reference books
• Stage fear
• Public speaking etc.
