ELITE ASSOCIATION A.Y: 2025-2026
The Elite Association is a departmental committee of the B.Com Department of Niranjana Majithia College of Commerce. The committee organizes various programs, seminars, activities, and interactive sessions for students of all three departments of the college, namely B.Com, BMS, and B.Sc. IT. The main objective of the association is to provide students with opportunities to participate in academic and co-curricular activities that enhance their knowledge and skills. Through these programs, the Elite Association helps students build their confidence, enthusiasm, leadership qualities, and overall personality development. It also encourages students to actively engage in learning beyond the classroom and develop skills that are beneficial for their academic and professional growth.

The Bridge Course on Accounting Fundamentals was organized by the Department of Commerce under the Elite Association, in coordination with IQAC, for FYBCOM and FYBMS students. The programme was conducted from 11th August to 18th August 2025 for a duration of 7 days, with daily sessions from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM. The course was conducted by Asst. Prof. Salman Shaikh, who explained basic accounting concepts, Golden Rules of Accounting, journal entries, ledger accounts, and introduction to final accounts using a practical approach.

The Elite Association of the B.Com Department of Niranjana Majithia College of Commerce organized a seminar on “Your Skills, Your Digital Badge” on 7th November 2025 from 9:00 a.m. onwards in the college classroom. The seminar was conducted with the objective of creating awareness among students about the concept of digital badges and their importance in the modern digital learning environment.
The session focused on helping students understand how digital badges represent verified skills and achievements earned through various online courses, workshops, and training programs. Students were introduced to the concept of skill-based learning and how digital credentials can help them showcase their abilities beyond traditional academic qualifications.
During the seminar, students were guided on how digital badges can be used to build a strong digital portfolio and how these badges can be added to resumes, LinkedIn profiles, and other professional platforms. The speaker explained that digital badges serve as proof of competency in different fields and can significantly enhance a student’s employability and career opportunities.
The seminar also emphasized the importance of continuous learning in today’s competitive world. Students were encouraged to explore various online platforms that offer certification programs and digital badges in areas such as communication skills, technology, business knowledge, and personal development.
The session was interactive and informative, where students actively participated and showed keen interest in learning about digital skill recognition. Approximately 50 students attended and participated in the seminar, making the session engaging and productive.
Overall, the seminar proved to be highly beneficial for the students as it helped them understand the importance of developing new skills and earning digital badges that can strengthen their academic profile and future career prospects. The Environmental Visit was organized by the Elite Association in collaboration with IQAC on 13th December 2025 at S.G.N.P. National Park, Borivali (East). The visit commenced at 7:00 AM onwards with enthusiastic participation from students.
The objective of the visit was to provide experiential learning regarding environmental protection and biodiversity. Students explored the natural ecosystem, observed different plant species, and understood the importance of wildlife conservation.
Students actively participated in environmental awareness discussions and gained practical knowledge about ecological sustainability. The activity helped bridge theoretical environmental concepts with real-life observation.

The Tulsi Poojan Ceremony was organized by the Elite Association in collaboration with IQAC on 23rd December 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM in the college campus. The programme witnessed active participation of 55 students along with faculty members.
The ceremony was conducted under the guidance of respected resource persons including Shree Manshukhbhai Rathodji, Shree Ajitbhai Gorpade (Yog Vedanta Seva Samiti), Shree Ajay Daniji, and members of Aman Dharma – Janardhanji Bhosleji and Prakash Ladji (Bal Shankar Kendra).
The programme began with traditional rituals and prayers dedicated to the Tulsi plant, highlighting its spiritual, medicinal, and ecological significance. The speakers addressed the students about the importance of Tulsi in Indian culture, its health benefits, and its role in maintaining environmental balance.
Students actively participated in the ceremony with devotion and enthusiasm. The activity successfully integrated cultural heritage with environmental awareness and encouraged students to respect and protect nature.

The Elite Association of the B.Com Department at Niranjana Majithia College of Commerce organized a seminar on “Investor Awareness Program – Empowering Smart Investors” on 7th January 2026 from 9:00 a.m. onwards in the college classroom for the students.
The session was conducted by representatives from Central Depository Services (India) Limited. The speakers provided valuable insights on investment awareness, financial planning, and safe investing practices. They also explained the importance of becoming informed and responsible investors.
Students actively participated in the program and gained useful knowledge about investing and financial management. The session helped students understand the basics of the investment market and the importance of making smart financial decisions.
Overall, the seminar was informative and successful, creating awareness among students and encouraging them to become knowledgeable and responsible investors in the future.

A Spiritual Awareness Session was conducted by the Devi & Das group from the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) on 9th January 2026 at 9:30 a.m. onwards at Block No. 18.
The session focused on the timeless wisdom of the Shrimad Bhagavad Gita and its relevance in modern life. The speakers thoughtfully explained that the Bhagavad Gita is not merely a religious scripture but a practical guide for spiritual and moral living. Its teachings help individuals understand the true nature of the Atma (soul), the importance of selfless Karma, and the value of performing one’s duties with sincerity, faith, and devotion.
Students were encouraged to cultivate the habit of daily reading of the Bhagavad Gita, even if it is just a few verses each day, to develop clarity of mind, positive thinking, discipline, and inner peace. The session emphasized that by improving one’s actions, controlling the mind, and following righteous conduct, one can progress spiritually and lead a balanced life.
The speakers also shared inspiring examples of great personalities and leaders who followed the teachings of the Bhagavad Gita, demonstrating how its principles have guided generations toward wisdom, courage, and righteousness.
As a gesture of love and service, copies of the Bhagavad Gita were distributed to students in three languages—Hindi, Marathi, and English—so that everyone could read and understand the message in a language close to their heart.
The session concluded with a humble appeal to students to regularly read spiritual literature, stay connected with the Supreme Lord, and adopt spiritual values in their daily lives to lead peaceful, meaningful, and joyful lives.

The Elite Association of the B.Com Department of Niranjana Majithia College of Commerce organized an **industrial visit to JPMorgan Chase & Co. on 9th February 2026 (Friday) from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The visit was arranged with the objective of providing students with practical exposure to the working environment of a reputed multinational financial institution.
During the visit, students were introduced to the functioning and organizational structure of the company. The representatives of the organization explained various aspects of their operations, work culture, and the role of technology in the financial sector. Students were able to understand how theoretical concepts of commerce, banking, and finance are applied in real corporate settings.
The visit provided valuable insights into the company’s working processes, professional environment, and the importance of teamwork and discipline in corporate life. Students gained a better understanding of career opportunities available in the banking and financial services sector.
Overall, the industrial visit proved to be a highly informative and enriching experience. It helped students gain practical knowledge and enhanced their exposure to the corporate world
Group discussion generates a creative thinking among all participants. It not only improves analytical abilities to think on a given topic but also enables profound and in-depth understanding of the subject. To see and evaluate the thinking skills, listening abilities and communicating skills of the students, the Department of Commerce organised a Group Discussion on ‘Problems faced by Youth’ for T. Y. B. Com and S. Y. B. Com students on 22nd June 2019. Group discussion was started under the guidance of Ms. Tapasya Joshi. Thirty Seven students participated in the group discussion.
Students discussed on problems like employment, peer influence, career choice, social network influences are the few problems highlighted by the students. They give solution like career oriented education, proper guidance by parents, teachers and good peer group plays important role in guiding and solving their problems. Healthy discussion took place and student suggested that such type of discussion should be organized regularly, so they get platform to express their views and get solution.
In order to create awareness among students regarding nature calamities, types and to preventive measures to be taken department of commerce has organized a seminar on disaster Management on 15th July 22, 2019. Seminar was conducted by ‘One India One People’ Foundation. Dr. Gopalkrishna was the speaker for the seminar. 26 students from S.Y B.com and 62 students from F.Y.B.com have participated. Seminar was informative and appreciated by the students.
In order to offer basic information on provision of first Aid for various incidents a seminar was organized by department of commerce on ‘First Aid’ on 17th July 22, 2019. Seminar was conducted by One India One People Foundation. Dr. Annapurna Aggrawal was the speaker for the seminar. Fifty Nine students from F.Y B.com have participated in the seminar. Seminar was informative and appreciated by the students.
With the objective of developing creativity ability of the students in the field of advertising along presentation skill of the S. Y. B. Com students, Department of Commerce had organized Advertising Poster Making Competition on 24th December 2019. 40 students participated with their creative skills. Each student was provided a different product for their presentation. Students came up with the product design, brand name, logo, features, etc. with their own creative skills and presented their work in front of their classmates. The presentation helped students to develop confidence and presentation skills among the students. Event was conducted by Prof. Tapasya Joshi. After each presentation she gave her opinion on each presentation. Students learn poster making in true sense due to the competition.
‘Advertisement Making Competition’ accustoms the students about promotional strategies in marketing through advertisements. In order to allow students to showcase the creativity in
Marketing products and services ‘Ad Mad Show’ was organized on 24th December 2019. In all 6 students participated with their acting skills. The event was conducted by Prof. Tapasya Joshi.
A quiz competition on Constitution of India and Fundamental Duties was organised on 24th January 2020 to raise awareness on the Constitution of India and on Fundamental Duties as enshrined in the Indian Constitution. 28 of students participated in the competition. Event was conducted by Ms. Nikita Singh.
Logo Quiz Competition was arranged on 9th March 2020 with the aim to find out the brand awareness and brand recognition ability of the students. 16 students participated in the competition. Students participated enthusiastically in the competition and enjoyed it. The competition helped students to know their general and brand related knowledge. Competition increased student’s knowledge of the logo, their meaning and reason behind selection of the
logo. After the competition, students became more aware about the logo, its meaning and history behind it. The event was conducted by Ms. Nikita Singh.
Intercollegiate Advertising Online Quiz Competition was organised from 23rd to 25th May 2020. Four rounds were organised whereby each round had five questions. 305 students from different college participated.
Economics is the study of people. Economics seeks to explain what drives human behaviour, decisions and reactions when faced with difficulties or successes. Economics is a discipline which combines politics, sociology, psychology and history. Study of economics helps to gain a toolkit of skills, approaches and ways of thinking that can be applied to a wide range of problems. Economics is one of the central disciplines underpinning the study of business and management and public policy.
To find out the awareness and sensitisation among students towards economy ‘Inter Collegiate Economic Online Quiz Competition’ was arranged from 20th June to 22nd June 2020. 181 students from various college participated in the Quiz Competition.
World Environment Day is celebrated on 5th June every year to encourage awareness and action for the protection of the environment. To find out the awareness and sensitisation among students towards environment ‘Inter Collegiate Environmental Online Quiz Competition’ was arranged from 5th to 8th June 2020. 336 students from various college participated.
On the occasion of the ‘World Environment Day’, Inter Collegiate Environmental Online Poster Making Competition was arranged from 5th to 8th June 2020. Posters with innovative ideas and vibrant colours were received. 26 students participated in the competition. The topics given for the poster presentation were Save Environment, Save Animals, and World after Covid-19. Competition was conducted in the Covid-19 period. Students have utilised their time in fruitful activity by displaying their artistic skills on the posters.
University of Mumbai & Board of studies have revised the syllabus for the Third Year in the academic years 2018-19. Department of Commerce was entrusted the responsibility of organizing University Level Workshop for Teachers teaching to Third year B.Com.
The workshop was inaugurated by Chairman Shri Navinchandra Majithia, Managing Trustee Jayeshbhai Majithia, Dr. Y. S. Kadam, Dr. Nishikant Jha, Dr. Suhasini. B. Arya, Incharge Principal Mrs. Khushbu Pandya and Co-ordinator Sweta Kumar. Sixteen participants were present for the workshop. After inauguration, two technical sessions were conducted as follows:

In the sessions, changes in the contents of the syllabus were explained. Resource person highlighted the area of change with context to the current market scenario in relation to Marketing & Human Resource Management and Export Marketing. List of reference books were given and a written exam pattern was discussed. Session was followed by healthy discussion and the queries of the participants were solved by the resource person. At the valedictory function, momento was presented to Dr. Amitha Sehgal and Dr. Shripad Joshi.
This workshop was a small attempt to provide a platform to the teaching fraternity for discussion & innovative thinking on changes in the syllabus. All the participants were appreciated with certificates.
Poster presentation is an opportunity for the student to demonstrate their creativity, communication skill and provides stage for presenting their views keeping this objective in the mind ‘Poster Presentation Competition’ was organized for Students on 22nd September 2018. Theme was ‘Environmental Issues & Management’ with the Sub themes Save Forest, Deforestation, Global Warming, Soil Erosion, E-Waste, Pollution, Global Warming, Ozone Depletion. Prof. Meena Mashru was the judge for the competition. Four students participated for the presentation. Gaurav Thakur was declared as a winner of competition.
With the objectives of to challenge students to demonstrate superior presentation skills, present their research aptitude ‘Power Point Presentation Competition’ was organized 26th September 2018 for B.Com, BMS & B.Sc.IT students. Theme for the presentation was ‘Rising India’ and Sub-Theme was I.T., Finance, Management, and Media. Prof. Sakshi Kathatri and Prof Meena Mashru was the judge. Six students participated in the competition. Ankit Tiwari and Parvati Prajapati were declared as first and second winner of the competition respectively.
With the objective to gain competitive advantage in the examination a Guest Lecture on Export Marketing was organized by department of commerce on 16th September 2018. Dr. Shreepad Joshi, the eminent senior faculty of Ghanshyamdas Saraf College of Arts & Commerce was invited as a guest speaker. 122 students attended the lecture with great enthusiasm.
With the objective to create awareness on Disaster Management, a seminar was organized on 11th December 2018 by the college in collaboration with ‘One India One People’ for the
F.Y.B.Com students. Mr. Gopal Krishnan was the speaker. 45 students participated in the seminar. The session was enlightening and informative.
With the objective of improving vocabulary, voice modulation and posture Elocution Competition was organized by Department of Commerce organizing on 7th February 2019 for B.Com, BMS & B.Sc.IT students. Competition also aimed to develop public speaking confidence of the students. Eight students participated actively. Event was judge by degree college senior faculty Miss Tapasya Joshi. Event was effectively organized and managed by Mr. Momin Abdullah and Miss. Abigail D’Mello.
With the objective to assess knowledge of students regarding commerce, Brain-vita competition was organized on 8th February 2019 for B.Com, BMS & B.Sc.IT students. Seven teams have been formed, in each group there were five participants. Student participation was excellent and they gain lots of knowledge.
With the objective to create awareness on Waste Management, a seminar was organized on 12th February 2019 by the college in collaboration with ‘Inner Wheel Club’ for the F.Y.B.Com
students. Three eminent speakers were invited for the seminar Mrs. Nehul Gajjar (president of Inner Wheel Club), Mr.Afzal Khatri and Mr.Nusrat Khatri. The session was enlightening and informative.

With the objective to gain competitive advantage in the examination a Guest Lecture on Human Resource Management was organized by department of commerce on 29th March 2019. Dr. Vinita Pimpale, the eminent senior faculty of Ramniranjan Anandilal Podar College of Commerce was invited as a guest speaker. 67 students attended the lecture with great enthusiasm.
