Objectives
- To familiarize students with the college’s vision, mission, rules, and regulations.
- To explain the New Education Policy (NEP) framework and course outcomes.
- To provide clarity about subject structure and departmental functioning.
- To introduce various committees and extension activities.
- To encourage active participation in academic, co-curricular, and extracurricular initiatives.
The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Niranjana Majithia College of Commerce successfully organized Deeksharambh – Student Induction Programme from 3rd July 2025 to 8th July 2025 for first year students of Bcom, BMS & Bsc-IT. The programme was thoughtfully structured to warmly welcome first-year students and help them transition smoothly into the academic and cultural environment of the college.
The orientation aimed to provide comprehensive awareness about institutional policies, academic framework, support systems, and holistic development opportunities available to students.
The orientation programme commenced with a warm and inspiring Welcome Address by Principal Dr. Reshma Vaja. She introduced students to the institution’s values, discipline standards and academic culture. She elaborated on the college policies, rules and regulations, and provided detailed insights into the New Education Policy (NEP) framework. The Principal also explained the importance of Course Outcomes (COs) and how they align with students’ academic and professional growth.
The session was further continued by BMS and B.Sc.-IT Coordinator Dr. Meena Mashru, who provided detailed information about Commerce (Management Studies) & Bsc-IT departmental structure, subject combinations, evaluation patterns, and subject outcomes. She guided students on academic expectations, internal assessments, project work, and career prospects associated with their respective programmes.
Subsequently, orientation sessions were conducted by various committee convenors and members to create awareness about institutional support systems:
- Library Committee – Mr. Pravin Misal
Explained library facilities, borrowing procedures, digital resources, and study support services. - Anti-Ragging & Placement Cell – Dr. Meena Mashru
Informed students about anti-ragging policies, student safety measures, grievance redressal mechanisms, and placement assistance initiatives. - DLLE (Department of Lifelong Learning & Extension) – Ms. Premkala Yadav
Introduced students to community engagement programmes and extension activities. - Step in Future Committee & Core Club – Ms. Pooja Gupta
Provided guidance on career enhancement initiatives and skill development programmes. - NSS (National Service Scheme) – Mr. Sanjay Raval
Emphasized social responsibility, leadership development, and community service opportunities. - Cultural Committee – Ms. Shriya Pandit
Encouraged participation in cultural festivals, research activities, and academic events. - Sports Committee- Mr. Saurabh Gehara
Encouraged participation in Sports Indoor, Outdoor games and academic events.
- Women Development Cell – Ms. Akshada Mestry
Created awareness about gender sensitivity, safety measures, and empowerment initiatives.
Each committee member elaborated on the objectives, activities, and benefits of their respective departments, ensuring that students gained a clear understanding of the diverse opportunities available within the institution.
Outcomes
The Deeksharambh – Student Induction Programme successfully achieved its objectives:
- Students gained clarity about college policies, NEP structure, and course outcomes.
- Awareness regarding subject structure and departmental functioning was enhanced.
- Students became familiar with library facilities, placement support, anti-ragging policies, and extension activities.
- Increased interest was observed in NSS, DLLE, cultural, research, and women development initiatives.
- The programme fostered confidence, reduced anxiety, and developed a sense of belonging among first-year students.
- Students showed enthusiasm towards active participation in committees and add-on activities.
Conclusion
Deeksharambh 2025–26 served as a comprehensive orientation platform, ensuring that new students were well-informed about academic expectations, institutional support systems, and holistic development opportunities at Niranjana Majithia College of Commerce. The collaborative efforts of the Principal, IQAC Coordinator, departmental heads, and committee members made the induction programme structured, informative, and impactful.
The initiative successfully laid a strong foundation for the academic journey of the new batch.
