NSS REGULAR PROGRAMME YEAR 2026-27
N.S.S: National Service Scheme
The National Service Scheme (NSS) is a central sector public service program in India launched on September 24, 1969, by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports to develop student personality through community service. Operating under the motto “Not Me But You,” it fosters social responsibility, civic engagement, and character development among students in schools and colleges.
Regular Activities (RA): Ongoing projects such as cleaning, tree planting, blood donation drives, and awareness campaigns, with a, funding of Rs. 400 per volunteer annually.
Special Camping Programme (SCP): 7-day or 10-day camps held in adopted villages or urban slums, focusing on specific community development projects.
Motto: “Not me but you” reflects the essence of selfless service.
Symbol: The symbol is based on the Konark Sun Temple’s Rath wheel, representing movement and cycle of life. The 24 bars represent 24 hours of the day.
Color: The red badge indicates high energy and lively youth, while navy blue represents the cosmos.
Through seminars, rallies, competitions, training programs, and social campaigns, NSS helps students develop communication skills, critical thinking, teamwork, and a strong sense of citizenship. The department acts as a bridge between the university and society, fostering responsible individuals who contribute meaningfully to social progress.

Objective: To raise awareness among students about the harmful effects of drug abuse. To encourage a personal commitment to a drug-free life through a public pledge.
Out Comes: to gain by student clear knowledge of the physical, mental and social consequences of drug use. Each participant signs an e-pledge, creating a personal accountability record.
Activity Details: Participated Nasha Mukti Rally (Anti-Drug smoking and HIV Awareness) say no to Drugs at Chacha Naheru Park, 4 Banglows Andheri..Participants will receive “Nasha Mukt” badges and certificate of pledge, reinforcing a personal commitment to a healthy, sober lifestyle.

Activity Details: 20th September 2025 NSS unit & My Green society organized International coastal cleanupDrive at at UTTAN Beach, Mira Bhayandar. Volunteers did Registration first after 5 to 6 team prepared collected waste materials, wood, plastics, glass, metal products in Black bags. Total 80kg waste collected by volunteer took pledge for clean environment with green society team

Out Comes: To develop skill & Ability for good leadership under NSS. It gave students a clear health goal, a tangible badge of participation and a feel-good connection to a city-wide fitness celebration.
Activity Details: Walkathon began from Achija Hotel Patel Nagar to MG Road to Dhanukarwadi Metro Station and same route return. Total 3kilometer route in this activity volunteers hold posters & finished route.

Objective: To shared sense of patriotism and love for the country and promote cultural awareness & encourage collective participation.
Out Comes: To improved confidence, better retention of national symbols and exposure to a classic piece of Indian literature enriches student’s knowledge of heritage and artistic expression.
Activity Details: The University of Mumbai is making the 150th anniversary of Vande Matram with a grand mass-singing event on 7th Nov 2025 at the University sport ground (sport pavilion) Marine Lines. This event promises a powerful, unified rendition of Vande Matram and a memorable experience for all volunteers.

Participants will receive “Nasha Mukt” badges and certificate of pledge, reinforcing a personal commitment to a healthy, sober lifestyle.

N.S.S: National Service Scheme
The National Service Scheme (NSS) is a central sector public service program in India launched on September 24, 1969, by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports to develop student personality through community service. Operating under the motto “Not Me But You,” it fosters social responsibility, civic engagement, and character development among students in schools and colleges.
Regular Activities (RA): Ongoing projects such as cleaning, tree planting, blood donation drives, and awareness campaigns, with a, funding of Rs. 400 per volunteer annually.
Special Camping Programme (SCP): 7-day or 10-day camps held in adopted villages or urban slums, focusing on specific community development projects.
Motto: “Not me but you” reflects the essence of selfless service.
Symbol: The symbol is based on the Konark Sun Temple’s Rath wheel, representing movement and cycle of life. The 24 bars represent 24 hours of the day.
Color: The red badge indicates high energy and lively youth, while navy blue represents the cosmos.
Through seminars, rallies, competitions, training programs, and social campaigns, NSS helps students develop communication skills, critical thinking, teamwork, and a strong sense of citizenship. The department acts as a bridge between the university and society, fostering responsible individuals who contribute meaningfully to social progress.

Organized Tree plantation programme at Adopted Area (Lalji pada & Ganesh Nagar) NSS Unit selected 15 families and distributed trees also planted tree at school campus. Total 20 fruits trees (Neem, Jamun, Ashok & Mango tree) planted from Morning 8:00 am to 12:00 noon. Total 38 participated. It is sustainable Activity every year we plan & Organized Paper Bags making activity from waste news papers. Volunteers prepared paper bags from waste news papers they seat together at college or some paper bags prepared from home and submit at college office entire year 4 times activity conducted. Tri Colours Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm on 12th, 13th, & 14th August 2024. Each day was dedicated to one of the colours of the Indian National Flag—Saffron, White (with Blue), and Green—to help students understand their significance and values. Saffron Day was observed, symbolizing courage, sacrifice, and strength. Students and teachers dressed in saffron colour and participated in activities highlighting bravery and patriotism. White and Blue Day was celebrated, representing peace, truth, and the Ashoka Chakra which stands for justice and progress. Students came dressed in white with blue accents and engaged in creative activities such as drawing, colouring, and discussions about honesty and unity. Green Day marked the importance of growth, prosperity, and harmony with nature. Students wore green attire and took part in activities that promoted environmental awareness and love for nature.

Participated as a volunteer on the 4 Different Days of Ganesh Immersion at Kandivali Gaon Talav, assisting in crowd control, traffic management in coordination with Mumbai Police, and collection of Nirmalya and other waste from Ganesh idols to ensure a safe and eco-friendly immersion process. “Managing the Crowd, Protecting the Environment.”

Organized in a Poster-Making Competition on Cyber Crime aimed at spreading awareness about online safety, cyber fraud, and responsible use of digital platforms through creative visual communication. Objective this competition is to create awareness about cyber crime, promote safe online practices, and encourage creative expression to educate people on digital safety. On the occasion of NSS Foundation Day, volunteers visited Orphanage (Leprosy House, Prem Sadan, Bothello House, and Shanti Dham Ashram), where chocolates and handmade notebooks were distributed to underprivileged children, spreading joy and reinforcing the spirit of service and social responsibility. Objective of this activity is to celebrate NSS Foundation Day by promoting compassion, social responsibility, and community service through meaningful interaction and support for underprivileged children. 24th February 2023 conducted a Rally for Awareness about use of Paper
Bags against plastic Polithin bags and distributed Handmade 1000 paper bags to all Hawkers,
paddlers and street wanders and fruit & vegetables’ sellers who sale their product with plastic
bags at Lalji pada adopted area.
Outcome:
• To develop sense to recycle the waste.

Shri Sant Gagangiri Maharaj Ashram Manori which is our adopted Area-I. Our NSS Volunteers went to Manori and cleaning the Ashram 20 Vol.s participated in this activity.


Yoga Day 21.06.2018
Our college NSS Unit organized YOGA DAY at the college campus. On that day every student and teachers participated in yoga as we celebrate as a YOG DIVAS. As given many benefit yoga steps and different knowledge about doing every day Yoga in their day-to-day life. There were 75 to 80 students participated in this activity.

Swatch Bharat Abhiyan 01.09.2018
Our College NSS Vol. participated in Swatch Bharat Abhiyan collaboration with BMC. 25 Vol. Participated in this activity. They cleaned the Sai Nagar which in Kandivali (W). The Cooperator Mrs. Priyanka More took part in Swachat Abhiyan with their BMC members.


Beach Cleaning 26.09.2018
After Ganpati immersion our NSS vol.organise swatch Abhiyan at Marve beach. Plastic paper bags Ganeshji body part collected given to BMC servant.
BLOOD DONATION AWARENES 28.09.2018
Our NSS Unit organized Blood Donation awareness in our adopted area 2 i.e. Laljipada and Ganesh Nagar. Vol. given information on blood donation benefits and motivated the slum people for the donation of blood.


Blood Donation Drive – 29.09.2018
Our NSS Unit organized Blood Donation Drive in our college. We invited J.J. Mahanagar Blood Bank for collection of Blood i.e. 45 bottles of Blood collected from our college.
Thalassemia Screening Camp 28.09.2018
Our NSS Unit organized Thalassemia Screening Camp in our college. We invited Think Foundation for screening camp. 100 bottles of blood samples were taken for the test.
