Objectives

To welcome newly admitted students and parents to the institution.
To introduce the vision, mission, academic policies and facilities of the college.
To orient students with the curriculum, NEP 2020, examination pattern and assessment process.
To familiarize students with departmental activities, extension programmes and student support services.
To motivate students towards academic excellence, discipline and holistic development.

The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Niranjana Majithia College of Commerce organized DIKSHA RAMBH 2026, a six-day Orientation Programme for newly admitted First Year students of B.Com, BMS and B.Sc. Information Technology from 4th July to 9th July 2026 and along with their parents on 4th July 2026. The programme was designed to familiarize students with the academic environment, institutional values, curriculum, examination system, student support services, extension activities and career opportunities while ensuring a smooth transition into college life.

Programme Proceedings

Day 1 – Saturday, 4th July 2026

Inaugural Function and Parent Orientation

The programme commenced with the registration of first-year students and parents, followed by the Inaugural Function with ceremonial lamp lighting and the welcome address by the Management, Principal and IQAC Coordinator.

Dr. Reshma Vaja, Principal, addressed the parents and students on the Vision and Mission of the institution, college rules and regulations, attendance requirements, discipline, dress code, academic policies, fee structure, scholarships and financial assistance available to students.

The IQAC Orientation was conducted by Dr. Meena Mashru, IQAC Coordinator, highlighting the quality initiatives undertaken by IQAC, NAAC accreditation process and institutional goals. She also explained the curriculum framework, attendance requirements,

academic assessment system and implementation of NEP 2020. A detailed session on the examination pattern and internal assessment was also conducted.

Faculty members from the B.Com, BMS and B.Sc. IT Departments were introduced to the students and parents. The day concluded with an Interactive Question & Answer Session, allowing parents to interact with the Principal and IQAC team and clarify their academic and administrative queries.

Day 2 – Monday, 6th July 2026

Extension Activities and Student Development

The second day focused on introducing students to various extension and co-curricular activities of the college.

Asst. Prof. Pemkala Yadav introduced the activities of the Department of Lifelong Learning and Extension (DLLE) and explained the importance of social outreach programmes and community engagement.

Asst. Prof. Sanjay Raval conducted an informative session on the National Service Scheme (NSS) and Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS), emphasizing social responsibility, leadership, environmental awareness and community service.

The Cultural Department session was conducted by Asst. Prof. Shriya Pandit, who encouraged students to participate in cultural festivals, competitions and personality development activities.

The day’s programme concluded with a session by Asst. Prof. Saurabh Gehara, who introduced students to the college sports facilities, Gymkhana activities and the importance of physical fitness and sportsmanship.

Day 3 – Tuesday, 7th July 2026

Departmental Orientation

A comprehensive departmental orientation was organized to introduce students to their respective academic programmes.

The B.Com Department Orientation was conducted by Asst. Prof. Akshada Mestry, who explained the programme structure, curriculum, subjects, academic requirements and career opportunities in commerce, banking, finance, taxation and higher education.

The BMS Department Orientation was jointly conducted by BMS Coordinator, Dr. Meena Mashru and Asst. Prof. Pooja Gupta. The session covered the programme objectives, curriculum, elective courses, industry connect, internships, project work, skill enhancement, research opportunities and career prospects in Marketing, Finance, Human Resource Management and Entrepreneurship.

The B.Sc. Information Technology Department Orientation was also conducted by B.Sc-IT Coordinator, Dr. Meena Mashru and Asst. Prof. Pooja Gupta. Students were introduced to the technology-based curriculum, laboratory facilities, programming, software development, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, cloud computing, project work, certifications and career opportunities in the IT industry.

The day concluded with a Student–Faculty Interaction and Doubts/Queries Session, where students interacted with the Heads of Departments and faculty members to clarify academic and career-related queries.

Day 4 – Wednesday, 8th July 2026

Student Support Services

The fourth day was dedicated to familiarizing students with the various support systems available in the college.

The Library Orientation was conducted by Asst. Prof. Mangesh Jadhav, who explained library membership, book circulation, digital resources and reading facilities.

Dr. Meena Mashru conducted the Anti-Ragging Awareness Session, explaining anti-ragging policies, AICTE and UGC guidelines, helpline services and the responsibilities of students in maintaining a safe campus.

The Women’s Development Cell (WDC) session was conducted by Asst. Prof. Akshada Mestry, who created awareness regarding the POSH Act, gender sensitization, grievance redressal mechanisms and women’s safety initiatives.

Day 5 – Thursday, 9th July 2026

Student Leadership, Placement and Valedictory Session

The final day began with an orientation on the Student Council, where students were introduced to student governance, leadership opportunities and committee participation.

The Placement Committee Orientation was conducted by Asst. Prof. Mangesh Jadhav, highlighting internship opportunities, campus recruitment, industry collaborations, employability skills and placement support provided by the college.

An Interactive Panel Discussion involving all departments was organized to address students’ remaining academic and administrative queries.

Students then participated in the Know Your Campus Tour, where they visited classrooms, laboratories, library, administrative offices and other important facilities. The orientation programme concluded with Open Ground Activities conducted by Asst. Prof. Saurabh Gehara, followed by Feedback Collection and the Closing Ceremony led by the Principal and IQAC Coordinator.

Outcomes

Students and parents became familiar with the college’s vision, academic policies and institutional values.
Students gained a clear understanding of the curriculum, examination system, NEP 2020 framework and assessment process.
Department-wise orientations provided detailed information on programme structure, learning opportunities and career prospects in B.Com, BMS and B.Sc. IT.
Students became aware of extension activities, NSS, DLLE, cultural programmes, sports, library facilities, anti-ragging policies, women’s safety initiatives, student leadership opportunities and placement support.
Interactive sessions strengthened communication between students, parents and faculty members, creating confidence among the newly admitted students.

Conclusion

DIKSHA RAMBH 2026 successfully achieved its objective of providing a comprehensive introduction to the academic, administrative and co-curricular environment of Niranjana Majithia College of Commerce. The programme enabled students to understand their respective academic programmes, institutional support systems and career opportunities while fostering confidence, discipline and a sense of belonging. The enthusiastic participation of students, parents, faculty members and staff contributed significantly to the success of the orientation programme.

To provide clarity about subject structure and departmental functioning.
To introduce various committees and extension activities.
To encourage active participation in academic, co-curricular, and extracurricular initiatives.

The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Niranjana Majithia College of Commerce successfully organized Deeksharambh – Student Induction Programme from 3rd July 2025 to 8th July 2025 for first year students of Bcom, BMS & Bsc-IT. The programme was thoughtfully structured to warmly welcome first-year students and help them transition smoothly into the academic and cultural environment of the college.

The orientation aimed to provide comprehensive awareness about institutional policies, academic framework, support systems, and holistic development opportunities available to students.

The orientation programme commenced with a warm and inspiring Welcome Address by Principal Dr. Reshma Vaja. She introduced students to the institution’s values, discipline standards and academic culture. She elaborated on the college policies, rules and regulations, and provided detailed insights into the New Education Policy (NEP) framework. The Principal also explained the importance of Course Outcomes (COs) and how they align with students’ academic and professional growth.

The session was further continued by BMS and B.Sc.-IT Coordinator Dr. Meena Mashru, who provided detailed information about Commerce (Management Studies) & Bsc-IT departmental structure, subject combinations, evaluation patterns, and subject outcomes. She guided students on academic expectations, internal assessments, project work, and career prospects associated with their respective programmes.

Subsequently, orientation sessions were conducted by various committee convenors and members to create awareness about institutional support systems:

Informed students about anti-ragging policies, student safety measures, grievance redressal mechanisms, and placement assistance initiatives.

Introduced students to community engagement programmes and extension activities.
Step in Future Committee & Core Club – Ms. Pooja Gupta
Provided guidance on career enhancement initiatives and skill development programmes.
NSS (National Service Scheme) – Mr. Sanjay Raval
Emphasized social responsibility, leadership development, and community service opportunities.

Each committee member elaborated on the objectives, activities, and benefits of their respective departments, ensuring that students gained a clear understanding of the diverse opportunities available within the institution.

Outcomes

The Deeksharambh – Student Induction Programme successfully achieved its objectives:

Students gained clarity about college policies, NEP structure, and course outcomes.
Awareness regarding subject structure and departmental functioning was enhanced.
Students became familiar with library facilities, placement support, anti-ragging policies, and extension activities.
Increased interest was observed in NSS, DLLE, cultural, research, and women development initiatives.
The programme fostered confidence, reduced anxiety, and developed a sense of belonging among first-year students.
Students showed enthusiasm towards active participation in committees and add-on activities.

Conclusion

Deeksharambh 2025–26 served as a comprehensive orientation platform, ensuring that new students were well-informed about academic expectations, institutional support systems, and holistic development opportunities at Niranjana Majithia College of Commerce. The collaborative efforts of the Principal, IQAC Coordinator, departmental heads, and committee members made the induction programme structured, informative, and impactful.

The initiative successfully laid a strong foundation for the academic journey of the new batch.
