Good morning and a warm welcome to you all. On this wonderful day, when we have gathered here to acknowledge and celebrate contributions of all achievers, I believe it an honor for me to welcome you all for Annual Day.

I, wholeheartedly welcome our Hon’ble Chief Guest, Shri Vishwanath Mahadeshwar, Mayor of Brihanmumbai Mahanagar Palika, Mumbai and Shri Yogesh Sagar, MLA Charkop (Vidhansabha), Hon’ble Guest of Honor, Adv. Ashok R. Sutrale, President of North Mumbai Dist. Congress Committee, Trustee Shri Navinchandra N. Majithia, Managing Trustee Shri. Jayeshbhai N. Majithia and Shri Navneetbhai Sheth. I extend my welcome to teaching and non-teaching staff and to students. I express my sincere gratitude to the guests for spending the day with us and making it a memorable day.

Our college strives to provide holistic education, including human values and excellence and grace to serve for the social cause. The report enumerates various academic and non-academic activities undertaken during the academic year 2018-2019.

Collaborations

In tune to provide holistic education, a need was felt to strengthen the industry-institution interaction and collaboration. By undertaking a partnership, our college made advancement in Academe-Industry relationship.

Our college signed MOU with Skill Development and Vocational Training Institute of India, which has opened opportunities for our students by imparting various skill development courses.

Recent tie-ups with IMC – Chamber of Commerce and Industry will help our student in pursuit of better employment opportunities or independent export-import executives or start their own export-import business through value-added courses such as

Our college foray into newer territories pertaining to undergraduate and postgraduate education by establishing Personal Contact Program centers of B.Com and M.Com of IDOL in our college premises.

Cultural

Majithia Week, 2k18 an intra-collegiate event was organized from 13h December 2018 to 19th December 2018 where event such as tattoo making, poster making, nail art, Mehandi, cricket, PUBG mobile, hulk it up, tug of war, rink football, singing, dance, fashion show, hairstyle, rangoli, carrom, salad decoration, best out of waste, chess were organized

Snchankur Melawa’ i.e. ‘Fun N Fair’ was organized on 24th December 2018 where immense involvement was received from students of various school and colleges.

Sports

At the university level, our college students participated for 20 Km walking race, table tennis, badminton, kabaddi, volleyball, weight lifting, cricket, and best physique competition.

For the intercollegiate competition, box cricket and rink football team participated in the competition at Thakur College, kabaddi team at M. D. Shah Mahila College, cricket team participated at Bal Bharati College, KES’s Shroff College and at M. D. Shah Mahila College. Our college team also participated in Reliance Foundation Youth Sports.

A notable achievement was made by our student ‘Omkar Kadam’ who secured 1t place in Max Bupa 10 Km Walking Race, 2nd place in 10 Km Walking Bombay City athlete meet, 2hnd place in 10 Km Walking race at Shivaji Park, 3rd place in 20 Km Walking Race in Maharashtra State senior athletics championship, 3rd place in Malad Walkathon and was awarded Best Athlete in Walking Sports at Poinsur Gymkhana.

NSS

NSS activities are promoted by our college as it inculcates social welfare in students and provides service to society without bias. Our college has 2 NSS unit which has an enrolment of 200 students. Our NSS unit functions under the guidance of program officer Prof. Suresh Lokare. 70 activities were undertaken to make students sensitize towards society. Our NSS volunteers actively participated in many activities like Yoga Day, Road Safety workshop; Civil defense training, etc.

To imbibe the feeling of social welfare and community development, 7 days residential camp was organized at our adopted village ‘Bethane’. At Bathane, NSS volunteers undertook Swacha Abhiyan Rally and cleaned the village. They painted village school. They taught orphanage children and undertook the program for villagers. They undertook NDRF training. They also undertook Vanrai Bhandhara Our Volunteers celebrated our Hon’ble Trustee Sir’s Birthday with orphanage children and took dinner with them.

Department of Lifelong Learning and Extension

D.L.LE is the new initiative undertaken by our college from the academe year 2018-2019. It works under the guidance of work extension teacher Bhavika Rumde and has 34 registered members. Activities undertaken by D.L.L.E are

Vocational Training Institute of India, where 12 eminent companies (Aditya Birla fashion and retail, Vodafone Idea Ltd., LIC. Axis Bank, ICICI, etc.) participated. 445 students were interviewed with Students Achievements.

The research forum of our college encourages the student to undertake research activities. Ankit Mahendra Tiwari, Aarti Vaishya, Parvati Prajapati, Shiv Jaiswar, Ankit Tiwari, Fatima Khan, Rahim Shaikh, Murali Mishra, and Amit Pathak presented their research paper at KES College.

Teachers Achievements

Research activities are undertaken by our teaching faculties. Principal Khushbu Pandya, Asst.

Achievements of teaching faculty, non-teaching staff and students are attributed to the Philosophy of Management. Thanks to the unconditional support from management which act as a source of inspiration for everyone. I thank our Chairman Shri Navinchandra N. Majithia, Managing Trustee Shri Jayeshbhai N. Majithia and Trustee Shri Navneetbhai Seth, teaching and nonteaching staff and students for their excellent cooperation and involvement in all the college activities. I thank everyone connected with our College for all their support.
